Reporting to the Manager, Inside Sales, you will be responsible for growing SMART’s sales within your region. This office-based position will focus on inbound lead qualification, new customer acquisition, identifying and contacting prospects through an outbound approach, and working as a liaison between the field sales and marketing teams.
Focus will be broken down into three major areas: 1. Lead qualification and distribution 2. Cold Calling and prospecting as part of specific regional (pod-based) outbound campaigns including hardware, software and software renewals 3. Sales coordination around specific sales activities including demos and events (online and face-to-face). You will be responsible for meeting weekly calling expectations, exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets and growing business relationships within your defined areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

Service inbound leads and renewals with a focus on engaging and qualifying prospective customers.
Execute outbound campaigns to prospects via research, cold calls, emails, and social media
Qualify leads before distribution to field sales and/or field channel teams
Report on lead qualification and call activity in CRM and territory calls
Research prospects via web, social media, historical sales data, etc.
Build and prioritize daily and weekly lead outreach plans for the sales territory
Coordinate and execute pre/post event outreach strategy
Meeting and exceeding sales targets for specific region or area assigned
Participation in calling campaigns to drive overall sales for software as well as leads for field based opportunities
Collaborate with Field Sales teams on prospecting and campaigns within named accounts
Hunting for net new opportunities outside the installed base

Education and work experience

Bachelor’s degree
2+ years’ experience in sales, preferably in an inside sales position calling directly into customers
Proven success in inside, SaaS or Education technology sales is an important asset
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and teams remotely
Strong work ethic
Demonstrated reasoning and problem-solving abilities with a high level of self-motivation
Strong time-management and planning skills
High degree of comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
Ability to approach tasks with a positive attitude while focusing on results with a strong sense of urgency towards reaching goals
A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one
Experience with Excel and a CRM
Experience with social media, marketing and sales

This position does not have any direct reports

Additional Details

Office-based role, fast-paced work environment
Travel may be required up to 20%
