Job Description

The Role: 

The Key Account Representative is a role tasked with targeting and growing our Top 150 Districts across the country. You will own Key Account clients and a book of 25+ prospective Key Accounts within your territory.  You will develop deep, meaningful connections with District stakeholders and decision makers creating true business relationships to become a trusted partner. The ideal candidate will understand the complexities of navigating the 150+ Largest Districts political climates and conflicting departmental goals. You have had success mapping customer needs and goals to product offerings and get to yes by creating value for their clients.  You will understand how to map the Newsela product offering to District needs and create value for their buyers that will unlock pilots and expansion opportunities within these key high revenue Districts.

You are a proven strategic Sales Rep hitting or exceeding your quota of selling digital education solutions in the field. You have demonstrated expertise in seamlessly navigating multiple stakeholders (district and school superintendents, instructional and curriculum directors, and administrators) to engineer the right solution for each customer. You take a consultative approach to sales, and have proven experience building a book of business with the top districts in the US. You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can drive sales quickly to a close within the education system. You might also have been a teacher at one point, or have a good grasp of pedagogy and can truly help connect the challenges in the classroom to the solutions Newsela is building.
